Christian Education
The Christian Education Program includes Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, Youth Ministry, mission leadership and stewardship education and family life programs.
Sunday School Ministry
Sunday School provides a structure for members to learn and share in the study of God's Word. All ages are presented in an accepted organization planned with special emphasis on a systemic study of the Bible in order to understand its contents and how the teachings may be applied to life. Vacation Bible School
VBS is held during the month of June after the regular school term ends. The purpose of VBS is to stimulate growth and knowledge of the Word of God in a diverse and less structured atmosphere. Children are provided the tools needed to increase their faith in Jesus Christ, and to develop a desire to be obedient to him in a fun setting. General Mission Ministry The General Mission Ministry is composed of women who are devoted to understaning God's missionary purpose and responding to it. They serve as spiritual role models for younger ladies. Some of their duties include: visitation of the sick and shut-in, contributions to charitable causes, comforting the bereaved, and clarifying the woman's role in the church. They also coordinate special activities on selected days. Health Care/Nursing Guild Ministry
"This is the day that the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it." The Health Care/Nursing Guild Ministry provides health awareness for the church and the community as well. This ministry consiists of doctors, nurses and other medical support staff of our church family.
The Health Care Ministry believes that God wants us to take the time to rstore our spirits, care for our physical health nd care for our mental health. "Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price, therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's." 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 Laymen/Brotherhood Ministry The main purpose of the Laymen Ministry is to inform, motivate and involve men in praying, studying, giving, and bearing witness of Christ. This ministry also helps to equip and involve men in Christian Service. Their mission is to enrich the lives of men, support the mission of the church and vision of the Pastor. The strength is in the men who have personal relationship with Jesus Christ, are committed to seeing the Kingdom of God established here on earth and desire to provide a haven for the people of God to worship and praise. Music Ministry
The Music Ministry is responsible for singing praises to magnify the Lord and lift up the name of Jesus. They are instrumental in setting the tone for worship. They diligently support all church actiivities and functions, including accompanying the pastor on visits to other churches. The Music Ministry also stresses choir standards, decorum and rules. The Annual Musical is held the second Sunday in December.
Prayer Meeting Planning Ministry
This group plans activities and strategies for the weekly prayer meeting. Audio/Video Ministry The Audio/Video Ministry provides quality cd's and dvd's of all worship services and offers quality technical assistance whenever needed. Usher Ministry The Usher Ministry helps to win souls for Christ by making people feel comfortable and welcome in our worship services. They are doorkeepers for Chirst during Sunday morning worship services and other programs/services. They assist with seating of the congregation, distribution of programs and other literature, direct the offering and handle medical or spiritual situations during the service. Purpose of Deaconess Ministry is to provide assistance to the Pastor and Deacon staff in observing the ordinances of the church; the Lord's Supper and Baptism; to contact and administer to the needs of candidates for baptism; and to greet and welcome visitors to the church. Youth Ministry
The purpose of this ministry is to develop, train, and provide a wholesome climate for youth so that they may live, grow, mature and exemplify progress toward a Christ-centered life. Programs and activities are planned to meet the spiritual and physical needs of our youth faith. This ministry is divided into three sections:
High School
Middle School Elementary Praise Dancers The purpose of this ministry is to provide young ladies spiritual growth through the ministry of song and praise, and to help win souls to Christ.
Children's Church
Children's Church provides alternative church services for children between 4 and 8 years of age. Our mission is to serve as one of the many ways in which the church assists parents in their awesome responsibility of nurturing children in the fear and admonition of the Lord, and to provide worship experiences for children that will prepare them for intelligent future participation in the adult worship service.
Basketball Program
The Basketball program is divided into four (4) segments: 12 & under boys, 12 & under girls, 10 & under boys, and 8 & under boys & girls (coed). Each team participates in a Fall Church Basketball Program sponsored by the City of Longview Recreational Department.
Evangelistic Ministry
The Evangelism Ministry visits door-to-door to witness and win souls for Christ. They also meet with new converts to share the plan of salvation, pray with them, and provide encouragement.
Giving Planning Committee
The purpose of this committee is to promote stewardship through publiciity and to provide referral to responsible sources for counsel in the matter of charitable giving.
Homebound Ministry
The purpose of this ministry is to carry God's Word to the sick and shut-ins in thier homes, convalescent homes and hospitals. They also feed the hungry, give love offerings, and make sizable donations for special holiday food. They visit out-of-town members and other church members not of our congregation. A Senior Citizens committee has been activated to assist Senior members by providing transportation to purchase prescription drugs and groceries, cash monthly checks, etc. |
